Anzac Day Dawn Service, March and Commemoration, Saturday 25th April 2026
The Dawn Service will be held at 5.50 am at the Commemoration area and lawn outside of the Avalon Beach RSL Club in Dunbar Park. It will be led by Commodore Richard Menhinick AM, CSC RAN, the President of the Avalon Beach RSL sub-Branch assisted by Paul Sinclair, the President of Avalon Beach RSL Club Ltd. After the ceremony is complete, all are invited to join the veterans in the RSL Club to enjoy light refreshments. The Avalon Beach RSL Fishing Club will be hosting a bacon & egg roll breakfast for a small donation.
The March will gather at 10.45 am for an 11.00 start out front of Avalon Public School on Old Barrenjoey Rd, it will then turn left onto Avalon Parade and right onto Bowling Green Lane. From there those marching will turn into Dunbar Park and disperse into the arranged seating. The March will feature local veterans, bands and representatives of local schools, sporting and community groups.
Once the March has concluded around 11.20, the Commemoration Service will be conducted by Commodore Richard Menhinick AM, CSC, RAN, the President of Avalon Beach RSL Sub-Branch. He will be joined by Lieutenant Commander Tamara Sloper-Harding, Vice-President of Avalon Beach RSL Sub-Branch and the Guest Speaker, RADM Lee Goddard, CSC.
The Catafalque and Colour parties will be formed from 201 Army Cadet Unit and 305 SQN Australian Air Force Cadets, Barrenjoey High School Band will participate in the march and provide the music at the Service and the singing led by The Big Sing. Once completed, all are invited to join the veterans in the RSL Club and enjoy refreshments, lunch followed by Two Up from Midday pm in the Surf Lounge on level 1 - if you wish and are 18 or older.
